Solar for Manufacturers

Manufacturing is a big user of electricity and margins are often tight. Solar is an obvious way to cut operational expenses. The single biggest barrier to adoption is often the cost of the solar installation. This disappears with Electron Green’s free solar programme.

    How the system works

Our solar PV system delivers electricity directly to your businesses building, allowing you to benefit from low-cost, renewable energy. Your school will prioritise using the electricity generated by the solar panels, while remaining connected to the grid—so there’s no need to change your existing energy supplier.

Electricity costs from utility companies are typically split into two main components: the raw electricity ('commodity price') and additional charges, including levies, taxes, and transmission fees ('non-commodity price'). With electricity generated from your rooftop solar panels, you’ll only pay for the raw electricity, reducing your overall costs.

Our solar PV systems are designed to operate continuously during daylight hours, supplying electricity as long as sunlight reaches the panels. We customise each system to meet the unique energy needs of your building, ensuring maximum efficiency and savings.

Electron Green’s Solar Installation for Respirex

Dividing line for mobile

Electron Green has fully funded and designed a solar installation for each of Respirex’s 3 buildings at their sites in Redhill and Crawley, all together installing 355 panels. Each linked to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the systems aim to generate a combined 148,000 kWh of electricity annually. Respirex’s grid electricity use is expected to drop by an average of 24% across the 3 units, resulting in £15,200 savings in the first year and more than £700,000 over 25 years.

FAQ's

Solar PV (solar photovoltaics) is a way of generating electricity using energy from the sun. Modern solar panels produce electricity from daylight and do not require direct sunlight, although more electricity is generated on bright sunny days.

Yes it is. This includes any initial consultation, the  solar panels, installation, and maintenance for 25 years. You’ll pay for only the solar electricity you use, at a price lower than your current utility cost.

Simply get in touch with us. There is no obligation to proceed beyond the information stage, but we would love to discuss solar with you.

No you don’t. Rooftop solar electricity is fed directly into your data centre and is used first before your building pulls from the grid for ‘top-up’ electricity. Any top-ups happen automatically. You don’t have to change utility provider and you don’t have to wait until your current utility contract comes to an end. Rooftop solar could supply up to 30% of your electricity needs.

Any solar electricity generated will be used by your data centre automatically. You don’t need to take any steps to make this happen.

This depends on the size of the system, and any local regulations. The whole process, however, can be swift and non-disruptive to business-as-usual.

There are four key steps:

  1. Evaluation: A ‘desktop’ assessment  to assess your roof for solar – size of system, any shading, likely savings based on any information you have provided about your energy usage. You will get a report with our recommendations.
  2. Surveys: A detailed on-site survey of your data centre, roof and electrics followed by a detailed solar design.
  3. Install: Specify equipment, planning, and construction management.
  4. Switch on: Once the system is in, you will start to receive clean and green electricity from the sun.

This free rooftop solar solution is simple and includes: free solar designs and surveys, a free solar PV system for the roof, free installation, free insurance, free maintenance for the life of your contract and a low price for electricity.

You have the option to purchase the solar system from us at any time, with the price adjusted to reflect depreciation over the duration of your contract.
